Seven complaints we designed against

We read the most-upvoted r/HVAC thread on ServiceTitan and rebuilt our product specifically against the failures it documents. Each item below is a real customer quote with our defense.

Forms erase mid-edit

Live in Plyrium
Erases a form I'm working on at least once a day, just restarts itself whenever it wants.

Plyrium: Plyrium auto-saves every form to your browser as you type. Quote builder, invoice builder, customer create, contract create, receptionist editor - close the tab, lose wifi, get interrupted by a customer call, your draft is right where you left it when you come back.

Bad-network behavior wipes work

Live in Plyrium
Buffering time as you add information, inability to close/dispatch in bad service areas. Workaround: just put your phone in airplane mode.

Plyrium: Plyrium's tech app keeps working when the network drops. Status updates, time logs, parts logs - everything queues locally on the device and syncs the moment signal returns. Your tech doesn't have to think about it. ServiceTitan's community workaround literally tells you to put your phone in airplane mode. We built the actual feature.

Mobile-office doesn't work

Live in Plyrium
They forced an update that loads far too much information at once for the office side. You can't run it on anything mobile. They said no plans for a mobile version of office.

Plyrium: Plyrium is mobile-first from day 1. Same app on every device. Schedule a customer from your phone in a deer stand. Reply to a lead from a coffee shop. There is no separate 'office' app to wait for.

Settings access is too broad

Live in Plyrium
Giving access to 'Settings' gives users access to update Company information, job types, forms, etc. It's awful.

Plyrium: Permissions in Plyrium are per-feature toggles, not page-level buckets. Granting your dispatcher access to dispatch settings doesn't grant them access to edit your company name. Each member's permissions are stored as individual flags.

Arbitrary technical limits

Live in Plyrium
You are only allowed to reactivate a managed technician 3 times before you cannot make any changes to them ever again.

Plyrium: No arbitrary limits anywhere in Plyrium. Every cap on your account is in your billing settings - seats per tier, locations per tier, leads per month. Predictable, visible, removable by upgrading. No mystery walls.

Things disappear and reappear in prod

Live in Plyrium
I'm convinced that engineers of this product also modify their programming in production. We see things disappear and reappear all the time.

Plyrium: Every customer-facing change at Plyrium goes through our public changelog blog. Weekly digest of what shipped. No silent rollouts. When something changes, it's documented before or right after. Read at /blog/changelog.

Vendor support is a joke

Live in Plyrium
Vendor software support is a complete joke. Their software developers are rolling users into their enterprise hub utility while it's still under testing/BETA.

Plyrium: Plyrium is built and operated by a solo founder. Every support email goes directly to the founder. No tier 1/2/3 escalation queue. 24-hour reply window. It doesn't scale forever, but as long as it does, you have a direct line.

When you should stay on ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is the right tool if any of these describe your shop:

  • 50+ trucks - ST has spent a decade building enterprise ops at this scale. We haven't.
  • Multi-region franchise reporting - ST's reporting tools are mature. Plyrium's reporting is functional but lighter.
  • Dedicated software admin - if you have someone whose job is configuring contractor software, ST's depth is a feature for them, not a tax.
  • Existing implementation that works - switching costs are real. If you're happy on ST, don't switch.

Plyrium is built narrower and simpler, on purpose. We'd rather lose your business to a better-fit competitor than sell you something you'll regret.
